Asbestos removal process

‘Asbestos Re-Roofers’ adhere strictly to all ‘Workplace Health and Safety’ regulations for asbestos roof removal. Following these regulations, our process for asbestos roof removal is :

1. Spraying your asbestos roof sheets with PVA glue. This “encapsulates” the fibres so that they’re not stirred up when the sheets are removed

2. Removal of all screws and fixings from the asbestos roof sheets.

3. Careful removal of the of the asbestos roof sheets – This involves removing them and loading them on to the forks of a “Franner Crane” (similar to a forklift) which then lowers the sheets on to the ground.

4. Wrapping the asbestos roof sheets - The sheets and other roofing (ie capping, ridge etc) are then wrapped up in heavy duty asbestos approved builders plastic and taped up with a special tape to ensure that the packs remain safe and secure.

5. Removal of asbestos from site – Once the asbestos is wrapped up, it is loaded on to a truck and taken away to a designated asbestos waste site. After this stage, there will be no traces of asbestos (from your roof) left on your property.

6. Vacuum your ceiling - Tiny asbestos fibres could be laying on your ceiling. We’ll vacuum your ceiling thoroughly to remove any remaining fibres. This removes any risk of exposure should you need to go inside your roof cavity in the future.

7. Installation of your new roof - Choose from Colorbond in the colour of your choice, or Zincalume steel (silver) and give your home a great new look. A professionally installed new roof will not only storm-safe and weather-proof your home, but will give your whole home a new look!
